We are very excited to partner with the YMCA/Sammamish Community and Aquatic Center for our new and improved Community Youth GSA! All kids, grades 6-12 are welcome to attend. They do NOT need to be members. Open to all kids, our focus on LGBT+ kids and kids from LGBT+ families. We have an amazing set of adult volunteers who will help the kids to get the ball rolling in a youth-led group! Allora Tvedt, the Y's incredible new counselor will be on hand as well to offer support and services. Please share and help us spread the word.
Other local resources for LGBTQ+ youth and their families:
PFLAG of the Eastside- PFLAG is often the first place people turn to, when they or someone they love has just come out or are questioning their sexuality and/or gender. But we are also a place of ongoing connection for LGBTQ people, family, and allies, where together we find acceptance, affirmation, and, for those who are interested, opportunities to actively move equality forward together. As the extended family of the LGBTQ community, they stand behind their successful track credit of creating change the PFLAG way.
Lambert House- Lambert House is a center for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth that empowers youth through the development of leadership, social, and life skills.
Youth Eastside Services (YES)- Youth Eastside Services provides counseling, substance abuse treatment, education and prevention, and psychiatric services in East King County. They work with youth ages birth to 22 and their families.
The Ingersoll Gender Center- Ingersoll is one of the oldest organizations of, by and for transgender and gender diverse in the United States. Officially formed in 1977, Ingersoll Gender Center has been building community, connecting folks to resources and advocating for our communities in the Puget Sound region for over four decades.
Gender Diversity- Gender Diversity increases the awareness and understanding of the wide range of gender diversity in children, adolescents, and adults by providing family support, building community, increasing societal awareness, and improving the well-being for people of all gender identities and expressions.
